Period 8 class:
1. Review pinyin: zh, ch, sh, ri, z, c, s, j, q, x.  Go to pinyin table to listen to these sounds in combination with the vowels a, e, i, o, u, and the four tones. 
2. Practice writing the three new characters (中国吗）

Please review all you've learned so far.  Pay special attention to the new vocabulary.  Practice several times speaking out loud the new phrases.

Study Lesson 1 part 2 vocabulary.  Know pinyin and English meaning for every new vocabulary.
Copy and memorize four writing words: 人，不，是，也。
Review sentence order for 不，and 也。 Know the specific word order when used with 是.

1. Study Lesson 1 part 2 vocabulary.  Read several times and memorize the sound, pinyin and meaning.
2. Review pattern sheet for lesson 1 part 1.

Review Pinyin on textbook page 4 - 5.  Listen to the pronunciation online to get familiar with these sounds.
Review writing and recognition words for lesson 1 part 1.
Practice typing (www.branah.com/chinesepinyin, www.branah.com/chinese, www.purpleculture.net)
(possibly) quiz Monday

1. Study lesson 1 dialogue 1 vocabulary.  Memorize all the "recognition" words.  Be sure you know the pinyin and English meaning when you hear it or see the words.
2. Remember to review often what you have learned.

2. do workbook pages 16 - 17 (part II and Part III).

5. Practice pinyin: textbook page 5, look up the sounds on the "pinyin table" and listen to the sounds.  You will be asked to say them in class on Monday.
